With Thanksgiving!…

To our American partners and friends, we join with you in this time of deep thankfulness. As Canadians, we celebrated this day last month but together we can be truly filled with gratitude for the peace and freedoms we enjoy.

Yes, we are aware on both sides of the border that we do not live in a perfect and equitable world where many people right here at home do not share in the material bounty that we sometimes take for granted.

Meanwhile in Malawi, Future Vision Ministries continues to partner locally to ensure the continuation of many programs to “minster to the needs of the whole person, Spirit, soul and body.”

The Sunuzi Health Centre is the latest such initiative and is now more than 90% complete.

Sunuzi Health Centre nearing completion . The maternity wing is on the right and OPD on the left with the portico in front to accommodate 300 patients.

The 10,000 sq ft. Health Centre will provide medical care for 30,000 people who have never had access to these services before. The focus is on maternity care, including delivery as well as pre- and post-natal wards. There is a full Outpatient Department, HIV – AIDS wing, Pharmacy, under 5 clinic, Eye clinic and two rooms devoted to pastoral care and counselling.

Staff housing is essential in this rural area.
FVM has already secured and outfitted this ambulance, an absolute necessity in this rural area, especially for pregnant women. (Cost … $35,000 Cad).

This container from South Africa will arrive by the end of November with a complete solar system and backup diesel generator. The local power grid is completely unreliable with daily outages for hours at a time. (Cost remaining to be paid …. $65,000)

FVM’S COSTS HAVE ESCALATED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THIS PROJECT DUE TO THE COLLAPSE OF THE LOCAL CURRENCY COUPLED WITH INFLATION OF 45%.

PLEASE CONSIDER PARTNERING WITH FVM TO COMPLETE THIS RURAL HEALTH CENTRE

And here’s a visual reminder of who you can include with your family this Thanksgiving!

My dad would often quote the verse that says,

“LET YOUR REQUESTS BE MADE KNOWN WITH THANKSGIVING…”
PHILIPPIANS 4:6

He would remind us that the Thanksgiving occurs at the time the request is made, trusting God for the answer.

… AND SO, WE ASK WITH THANKSGIVING!

As we say in Malawi,
Zikomo Kwambiri!  Thank you very much!

Dan Hayhoe
On behalf of your FVM family in North America and Malawi

“THANKS BE TO GOD FOR HIS INDESCRIBABLE GIFT ’’
2 CORINTHIANS 9:15
