October Malawi Update

Greetings!

We received so many fantastic pictures from Newton this month that an update in photos seemed appropriate!

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

Our Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs, which include feeding, educating, and playing with the children, restarted on 22 September 2025, with 400 children registered.

SPORTS TOURNAMENTS

There were sports tournaments in the Taulo and Nandolo areas. Student and parent teams participated. 4,000 people attended, providing an opportunity for health services and information sharing about human well-being. All participating teams were awarded cash and the winning teams received trophies.

EYE CARE

This past month, 174 clients were screened. Eyeglasses for near vision were distributed, some patients were referred to Zomba Central Hospital for cataract surgery, and 86 patients were given medication on-site.

SUNUZI HEALTH CENTRE

Plastering for the Sunuzi Health Centre is 80% done. Installation of doors and windows is in progress. The Malawi NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA) inspected the construction work to appreciate such a huge project.

Continuing with FVM’s mission to serve spirit, soul and body, Spiritual Care was offered through community-based Bible sessions, evangelism rallies, and radio broadcasts on Trans World Radio. As well, Outreach Health Services were conducted in Taulo with over 250 people receiving Outpatient services, including HIV testing and Cervical Cancer Screening.

Congratulations!

One of our students, Henderson Mpembeza, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Policing and Management from the University of Malawi.

We appreciate each supporter who gives through prayer and financial investment. The wide array of services provided is made possible by your care.

Zikomo kwambiri from the bottom of our hearts.
