September Malawi Update

SUNUZI HEALTH CENTRE UPDATE (SHC)

Recently, several government ministries and key people inspected the SHC. It is exciting to see the pictures filled with people and action! We are so very close to patients being accepted for care. Sometimes it feels like a slow-motion race, and we assure you things are moving forward! In the May Update, Anita Labelle inspired us to see the SHC “as a garden of Malawian seeds, each room planted with purpose, healing and hope.” Would you like to partner with us in an area that excites you about new life flourishing?

WAYS YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE THROUGH DONATIONS AND SUPPORT…

PATRICK JOSEPH, Success Story
From Chifundo Nursery School to University of Malawi

Patrick Joseph started his preschool at Chifundo Nursery School in 2012, largely under the teaching and care of Ellena Khaki and her colleagues. This is the nursery school FVM-C has been supporting since 2011 in Chief Nandolo’s area in the beautiful Mulanje District. After he graduated from the nursery school in 2013, he did his primary education at Lujeri Primary School. Eight years later, he was selected to Mulanje Secondary School, a Government School. FVM-C paid his tuition fees for the four years he was at the secondary school. After completing his secondary education, he was selected to the University of Malawi, where he started in August pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development (BSc, ECD)

…AND CONTINUED IMPACT THROUGH REGULAR PROGRAMS

  • 6 students from the FVM-C education assistance initiative were selected for University/College.
  • Nandolo community sports tournament with informative presentations on child protection, gender-based violence, advising against early marriage, education and health talks.
  • Community-based Bible studies and weekly radio broadcasts on Trans World Radio with encouraging feedback.

Lujeri Primary School netball team wins the netball tournament.

As always, a big thank you from all of us at FVM on both sides of the ocean and from your Malawian Family.

Zikomo kwambiri from the bottom of our hearts.
