April Malawi Update

Morning at Mulunguzi House with everything green and lush from the rainy season

CURRENT VISIT TO MALAWI

Dan Hayhoe and Terry Wills are currently at Mulunguzi House. We are so grateful that Dan has once again been able to touch down in his beloved Malawi! There will be many meetings, discussions and decisions during this time, and we appreciate prayers for clarity and wisdom.

EDUCATION

We often mention the Preschool programs because they provide such a vital foundation. This past month, 532 children (286 from Chinangwa and 246 from Chifundo Nursery Schools have benefited from nutritious food and preschool education. We are thankful that the food supply has remained consistent. As well, twelve university students and eight secondary school students were assisted with part of their tuition fees. Two students graduated with a BA in Theology and a Diploma in Theology. Since FVM began support, 10 students have graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in different fields.

Since 2007, FVM has been awarding outstanding students in their academics through Student Christian Organization of Malawi (SCOM).

SPIRITUAL OUTREACH

Over the past month, two community-based Bible sessions were conducted, and eight radio broadcasts with repeats in Chichewa and ChiTumbuka languages were aired on Trans World Radio (TWR), reaching over 4 million listeners. Very encouraging testimonies are received through phone calls and texts.

“Ndine Tadala Brown, ku Chiradzulu. Programme ya pa Radio ikusintha moyo wanga (I am Tadala Brown from Chiradzulu District. The sharing of the word through radio programmes is transforming my life.”)

Eight thousand Christian calendars were distributed, including in Islam dominated places.

About 10,000 young people (ages 10-24) attended the Student Christian Organization of Malawi (SCOM) Conference nationwide, with Mulanje and Zomba conferences hosting 981 participants.

EXCITING NEWS FOR USA DONORS

We are so grateful to let you know that Future Vision Ministries is in the process of registering as a charitable organization in the United States. Our US donors are generous in making a difference in Malawi. We appreciate all who have been involved in this process, including the founding organization, which made it possible for FVM to step in. We have seen God’s provision in special ways throughout this process.
Details of how to send donations through the US will be coming.

Zikomo kwambiri from the bottom of our hearts.
